AngelNV to invest a historic $500,000 in Nevada-based startups on March 29
Funding to be matched by state program, injecting more than $1 million in the startup economy
LAS VEGAS (March 11, 2025) – Operated by StartUpNV, a nonprofit incubator and accelerator for Nevada-based startup companies, AngelNV will hold its Shark Tank-style finale on Saturday, March 29 at Las Vegas City Hall. At the event, seven startups will pitch to secure an investment from the AngelNV fund that has raised an unprecedented amount – more than $500,000. The seven companies will be vying for the first-place minimum investment of $200,000. Additional smaller investments may also be made.
After a welcome reception, the seven entrepreneurs will make their pitches shortly after 1:30 p.m., and investments will be announced at an awards ceremony promptly at 3:45 p.m. by Nevada Secretary of State Francisco “Cisco” Aguilar. He will be representing the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) that will match the total amount invested by AngelNV, ultimately injecting $1 million into Nevada’s startup economy.
This year, thanks to the intrastate Nevada Certified Investor (NCI) law that enables more Nevadans to qualify to invest in startups at lower minimum investment levels, a historic number of investors participated in the AngelNV program. Typically, around 50 investors invest in the AngelNV fund, but this year, investor participation doubled with nearly 100 individuals providing funding that, as a result, led to a higher total fund amount.
Seventy-six entrepreneurs who started a scalable business with some sales or are within one month of launching for sales, pitched the AngelNV investors to be considered for a capital investment to grow their business. The original group of entrepreneurs was cut to 16 and then ultimately trimmed to the seven finalists who will pitch for an investment on March 29:
