Downtown Summerlin® Announces Return of Lei Day Parade on May 1

Events recognizes Asian American and Pacific Islanders Heritage Month

Las Vegas, Nev. (March 2024) --- Downtown Summerlin® is pleased to announce the return of the Lei Day parade that will celebrate and kick off Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.  This fun, colorful and visual parade is set for Wednesday, May 1 at 6 p.m.

The parade, in partnership with BESTAgency, features local cultural organizations including Hot Lava Productions, Nani Ola Hawaiian Dance Company, Tevakanui Polynesian Dance Group, and Na Hula Hali'a Cultural Preservation.  

Parade watchers will experience performances such as the Ancient Hula Kahiko accompanied by a chanter who tells the story; the free-flowing modern style of Hula Auana; the passion and pride of the Māori Haka; the rapid hip-shaking movements of the Tahitian Dances, and much more!

The Lei Day parade takes place on Park Centre Drive. Festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. with the parade at 6:00 p.m. The parade is complimentary and open to the public.
