LAS VEGAS (May 7, 2026) – Like its sister properties in the Arts District and Fremont East, shareWESTSIDE, a five-story residential apartment complex with 100-plus units being built on the corner of D and Jefferson Streets in the Historic Westside neighborhood of downtown Las Vegas, will include four large format exterior murals that will be installed by local artists beginning next week.
Curated by Chase McCurdy, owner of ThirtyThree Gallery (33.G), the four four-story murals were conceived and will be created by Las Vegas-based artists Courtney “Yard$” Haywood and Iandry Randriamandroso.
“As the marquee project in the Historic Westside’s redevelopment, shareWESTSIDE serves as a canvas for the community’s legacy and future,” said McCurdy, who selected the artists and their mural concept for the project. “Both artists have previously executed celebrated murals within the 89106, demonstrating their profound ability to visually translate the authentic character of the Westside.”
As conceived by Yard$ and Randriamandroso, their shareWESTSIDE mural concept is entitled “Past – Present – Future – Forever,” and it will feature four individual murals to represent each element of the neighborhood.
According to the artists’ conceptual abstract for the project, they seek to show the evolution of the Historic Westside starting with a past anchored by the vitality of a thriving Black community that built, protected, and celebrated its own enduring culture. Its legacy continues today through collaborative action to navigate a present era of profound transformation. It is a legacy built to last forever.
This mural project is personal to both artists. "Growing up in the Westside, I remember streets filled with laughter and the shared experiences of children playing, learning, and growing together… a community,” said Yard$. “This is a full circle moment to create a meaningful mural for the first new residential development in the Westside, one street from my childhood home."
Randriamandroso, who has painted two other murals in the Historic Westside, added, “this one feels different from my past experiences, because this time we are painting a series of murals on a brand-new residential property that will become the tallest building in the Historic Westside. I feel this is the beginning of a new chapter for the neighborhood - the rebirth of Westside, and I am glad that I can be a part of it.”
The developer of shareWESTSIDE, Cherry Development launched the shareDOWNTOWN apartment brand to create more residential housing options in downtown Las Vegas and to foster a collaborative, connected community among its residents and neighbors.
“Community has been at the heart of our projects, and we are proud that shareWESTSIDE will reflect the people, history, and culture of the Westside community,” said Sam Cherry, CEO of Cherry Development.
