StartUpNV to host double feature AngelNV workshop for Global Entrepreneurship Week

Special session is open to all GEW Vegas participants on Nov. 15

LAS VEGAS, NEV (Nov. 12, 2022) – StartUpNV will celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) with a special double AngelNV workshop: “Pitch Decks 101” and “Go to Market Strategies.” Open to participants of GEW Vegas in addition to entrepreneurs already enrolled in the 2022-2023 AngelNV bootcamp program, the double session on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at the International Innovation Center @Vegas located in downtown Las Vegas at 300 S. 4th Street. Doors open at 5 p.m.; program begins at 5:30 p.m.

“Pitch Decks 101” will be led by successful entrepreneur and investor Dan Steele, who will offer advice on crafting the perfect pitch for investors. Steele is the Entrepreneur in Residence at StartUp Vegas, a non-profit working to develop the infrastructure needed to expand the startup ecosystem in Las Vegas.

Faye Almeshaan will discuss how to execute a “Go to Market” strategy to prepare for the launch of a product or service and reach customers. As seating is limited, advance registration is required online at https://startupnv.org/events/. The sessions will also be available for remote attendance via Zoom.

Now in its 13th year, Global Entrepreneurship Week is the world's largest celebration of entrepreneurship with activities taking place in 180-plus countries and all 50 states in the U.S. Each November, from large-scale startup competitions and workshops to small, community discussions, GEW connects participants to a network that can help them start and scale a company, no matter where they are on their entrepreneurial journey. In the U.S. alone, nearly 5,000 events, activities, and competitions are planned across all 50 states by a variety of organizations such as colleges and universities, entrepreneurial support organizations, government agencies, economic development groups, and more. Operated by StartUpNV, a statewide nonprofit incubator and accelerator for Nevada-based startups, AngelNV teaches entrepreneurs the fundamentals of attracting venture capital, including perfecting their pitch, conducting market research, and developing a deck to attract investors, over the course of a 3-month bootcamp program. After completing the bootcamp, founders can apply for AngelNV funding. One startup will receive a $400,000 investment comprised of funding from accredited angel investors invested in the AngelNV Conference Fund and matching funds from the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI).

StartUpNV launched AngelNV in 2020 to foster an angel investment network for Nevada-based startups and attract to the state scalable startup businesses and entrepreneurs with big ideas to build a more diversified and resilient economy. Now offering its third session of bootcamps, AngelNV is building a bridge between entrepreneurs and angel investors by educating startups on raising capital and teaching accredited investors how to invest wisely in startups.
